I have downloaded system7 file from ftp.apple.com. What I got are a bunch of ***-image.hqx files. What should I do with them. What kind of utility programs do I need to decode these files. I tried Binhex 4.0 and Stufflt 1.5.1. It seemed that I can't extract anything from them except some ***-image files. Would somebody be kind to tell me how to go from ***-image.hax files to files which Mac can understand?

You need to use DiskCopy which is also on ftp.apple.com. It takes the image files and loads them onto a floppy disk. On the other hand, after I download the .sea files to my mac, double clicking on them just generates an error message that is something like "application is busy or damaged". This happens on all of the .sea files in the 7.0 distribution, and also the Stuffit 1.5.1 distribution. It doesn't happen with normal .sit files or other programs on download using the same mechanism. BTW, here is the sequence I use. 1. Download to my sun using ftp 2. Run xbin to convert to .data, .rsrc, and .info files 3. Use macbinput to download to my mac (VerstaTerm on the mac). 4. Double click on the .sea file. Any suggestions. -- Mike Wexler (mikew@fx.com)
