Alright, heres the deal. There has been quite a few postings about the speed degradation of system 7. I for one believe the stories for good reason. My system consists of a mac IIsi 5/80 and a Teleport modem. Except for the Teleport CDEV, there are no system addition. System 7 bogs me down quite a bit especially in screen redraw. I can accept this in applications but in the finder? I am sure it has something to do with the on-board video, and am actively pursuing a fix to this mess. I am seriously considering a RasterOps 24si accelerated graphics card for my machine. Has anyone had experience with this board? Will it accelerated my mac it 8bit mode as well as 24bit mode? Should this really solve my problem? If not, what will? Perhaps there is a quick fix I can use to remedy this situation without shelling out big $ ? I read about a IIsi cache card. Would it help at all? Id rather get the video board because it will also give me some functionality as well as speed, but if the cache is a better solution.... I got a reply from a really cool guy from Radius about this, but I would like to get some other opinions. Please tell me I'm not terminally stuck with a slow finder :^) Thanks ahead of time.... Stump.
