We are told that we can't draw upon the examples of non-US countries when talking about the US. While I can agree that the Swiss culture is very different from that of the US, the same cannot be said for Canada. Many Americans visiting our country ask "what's the difference?" Sure, anybody can list whole varieties of minor differences, but they are all insignificant compared to the similarities. Gun control works here in Canada. Admittedly, part of the reason it works here is because we have always had it, and are used it. In one generation, however, the USA could get used to it as well. -- Brad Templeton - Waterloo, Ont.
