[comp.sys.mac.misc] 2 questions

1) I'm trying to use Unix sockets from a Macintosh
version of ObjectWorks for Smalltalk (running
under Mac OS). ParcPlace doesn't support
sockets for non-Unix platforms. Has anyone
written code that would enable me to do this?

2) I'm looking for a Smalltalk implementation that
runs on a Stardent Titan. Any pointers would
   be appreciated.

Thanks, Larry Bergman

I just had a couple of questions:

1) I forgot the full name for the stanford archives of mac software..
I would appreciate it if someone could give it to me again.

2) I am looking into purchasing a hard drive...I was just wondering
if anyone could give me some suggestions on what type to get and
where to get it from. I am looking at getting one somewhere
    between 40mb and 80mb.

thanx...

We've had good luck with a couple of Quantum 80s purchases form Alliance
Peripherial
Systems. They advertize in the back of the Mac rags.

1) Could someone send me (or tell me where to find) a list of
which Macs have internal scsi termination and which don't? I
found out last night (the hard way, of course) that the SE
doesn't. I'd like to avoid that kind of fun in the future.

2) After reformatting my drive, I restarted the mac, booting
from a floppy. It would access the hard drive, then give me
a sick mac symbol and under that show:

		0000000F
		0000000C

without ever accessing the floppy. I had to remove power from
the hard drive to get it to boot (from the floppy), then
reinstalled the driver on the hard disk. After that, things
went much better. So my curiosity is peaked - what does the
above code mean and why did it stop the boot process without
ever accessing the floppy drive?
