This summer about 20 teachers in a local school district will be taking home Macs to learn to use them. Their expertise about computing in general varies from none to moderate. None have experience with the Mac. Each will have the documentation that comes in the box with the Mac. 1) They need to learn the Mac. Do you think the books that come with the Mac are sufficient? If not, what is the best *general purpose* book to learn the Mac? 2) They need to learn MS Word. They are debating about buying 20 copies of the academic single user version of MS Word ($120 each; includes disks and documentation), or two ten-packs of the academic version of Word ($600 per ten-pack; 10 sets of disks, *one* set of documentation). Of course, bucks are tight. Is the MS documentation that accompanies Word sufficient for them to learn from? What is the best book available on Word for the Mac?
