I just bought a Quantum 105 meg external drive for my Mac IIsi. My IIsi had a Connor 40meg internal drive. I want to swap the drives over, and use the external box for the Connor 40 meg, and only have it occasionally connected. Moving the Quantum inside the IIsi was easy, the problem is setting the SCSI ID on the Connor (the mechanical part of mounting the drives was easy). A friend suspects that this Connor drive, being intended for internal use, may have a hardwired ID of zero (to keep cost down). I am not sure I believe that. There were some pins on the Quantum labelled A0, A1, A2, to which the SCSI ID selector switch of the external box were connected. The only thing looking roughly the same on the Connor I can find are some pins labelled E1...E4, located on the drive in a more or less similar position. I could just go ahead and put a jumper on E1 but if anyone has firm knowledge of this I would appreciate hearing from them. Thanks - Tim.
