I'm quite a Mac novice and I've experienced a problem that seems very strange to me. While in MS Word in the spell checker, the text on both the spell checker screen and the Word screen just disappeared. When this happened I went to save the document and it started to take an incredibly long time to save - it took 6 hours to save a 110K file that normally takes seconds to save. The resulting file was only one page of garbage and also an additional file suddenly appeared that I had not created that was 110K in size. The file was called Word Temp 4 and was a MS Word doc. I have been working on this document for the past 3 weeks and have never had problems saving until this one time. I had even saved twice previously the same day as this happened. I exited out of Word and now I cannot open any Word documents from Word after getting back into it. I have not yet rebooted for fear of losing the chance to recover the file. Is this Word Temp 4 the document and if I reboot will Word let me open it? I have the following configuration - * Mac Plus with one meg of memory * running System 6.0.5 * running latest version of Word Is this the system? Word? Something else?
