I recently purchased a Casio BOSS and the CasioLink for Macintosh package from Traveling Software to connect my Mac and the BOSS. I wanted to use my existing name and address record keeping system, which is a HyperCard stack, but I've run into a compatibility roadblock. Can you help me out? I have a HyperCard stack of my own design for keeping track of names, addresses and phone numbers. The fields in this stack are fairly free form, for example one field contains the name and address, other fields contain telephone numbers. The name and address field looks like this: Mr. John Smith <return> 1234 Main Street <return> Anytown USA 99999 <return> The <return> characters aren't visible of course, but they are there nonetheless. The problem comes when I export these records to a text file which is to be imported by the CasioLink program. Each <return> character is regarded as the record separation mark, so that a field cannot contain a <return>. The CasioLink program will import the text file, but the result is gobbledygook with fields and records mixed up and intermingled. I asked the people at Traveling Software if they knew a work-around to this problem, but they didn't. They acknowledged that the program is "pretty basic". So I thought that some clever HyperTalk/programming genius reading this note might know of or be able to figure out a solution. I'd appreciate your replying directly to me and I'll post a summary message if appropriate. Feel free to ask for additional information if you need it. Thanks.
