[comp.sys.mac.misc] Speed of 256k SIMMs

mlzerkle@athena.mit.edu (Michael L Zerkle) (06/27/91)

I am thinking about buying the SE to SE/30 upgrade and I would
like to know if I can use the 256k SIMMs that were originally
in my Mac SE. I believe that I can use 120 ns or faster SIMMs
in the SE/30, however I am not sure how fast my 256k SIMMs are.

I understand the speed of the chips is usually part of the chip
ID number but these seem to be a little different than I am use
to seeing. Can someone tell me the speed of the RAM chips and
the SIMMs?

RAM chip:

           -12
  TI H874058SN
  TMS 4256FML
  SINGAPORE H

Back of SIMM:

       -15L
       8740
  TM4256HU8

Thanks in advance,
