A department within our University has recently upgraded their Macs to include TrueType fonts within MS-Word 4.00d on their StyleWriters and Laserwriter II. Since they needed a greater range of fonts than are currently available in TT, they also loaded bitmap fonts and screen fonts. They are also using Adobe Type Manager. Subsequently they experienced problems when printing, with Word obviously not handling a mix of different types of fonts, with the result that justified right margins ended up looking more like ragged-right margins. Interestingly, products other than MS-Word did not have these problems. Does anyone have any thoughts as to how these people can use both TT and Adobe fonts without these problems in MS-Word?
