[comp.sys.mac.misc] Wierd SE/30 and Syquest Drive behavior.

System Setup: SE/30
               Internal 80 Meg Drive
               APS Syquest Drive

Up until yesterday when I increased the RAM from 4 to 8 Meg I haven't
had any problems with this setup. On the internal 80 Meg drive I have
installed System 7 and on a couple of the Syquest disks I have installed
system 6.0.7. Before adding the memory I could run applications located
on the 80 Meg drive while running under system 6.0.7. without any
problems. Now however when I try to do the same thing the applications
will not start up properly. I now get bus errors, address errors, and
occationally a co-processor not present errors while the program is
loading. I have noticed this with Word 4.0c, Excel 3.0, SuperAnova 1.1,
Systat 5.0 and a couple of other programs I can't remember. I haven't
found a program that will startup properly yet. The really confusing part
is that I copied SuperAnova over to the Syquest drive and was able to run
it there with no apparent problems. I haven't tried this with the other
programs yet. I tried reinstalling the 6.0.7 system a couple of times
with no change in response. The only inits that are running under 6.0.7
are SAM Intercept 3.0 and Now Utilities Startup Manager. All other inits
in the System folder were turn off with Startup Manager. Also I'm not
having any problems running off the 80 Meg Drive under System 7 and I can
access the files off the Syquest disk with no problems either.

If anyone has any ideas what is going on please let me know (post or
e-mail, whatever is easier for you).

Thanks in advance,

Mark
