My old Mac Plus has a habit of making a very loud, very annoying high pitched tone when it has been on for a while. I remember reading something about it in a MacUser or MacWorld a long time ago and I was wondering if anyone had any clues. The tech people I know would fix it for me, if they had a better clue what they were looking for. Someone had the idea that it could originate from a metal band around the flybox (???) that could have worked itself loose and started vibrating. Please, any clues as to what it could be or where I could find out would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Rob Beeler Apple Poster Child rabeeler@rodan.acs.syr rsrab@suvm.bitnet "Run? No, stupid. Hey, my MacPlus is doing something similar, but rather than issuing an annoying high pitched tone I get an annoying low pitch knock. I left it for the repairs and the techo took $50 and said he could find nothing wrong with it. I have the suspicion the noise must be coming from the speaker, but the source could be just about anywhere, probably a nasty spike of electric charge is going through my Mac's guts, one day it will probably fry to death (as my Mac 128 did once, remember the old beast?).
