I have seen several postings about sounds available from the Info-Mac archives. I have even gotten a few via personal mail and the various mail servers and tried to convert these files into a format that I could use, either at home on my Apple IIgs or at work on my Sparcstation 1+. I know how to take a regular Mac sound file and convert it. But occasionally I see notes about snd resource files and I was wondering what tools one would use to extract those into a format that could be used in one of the above environments. When I try the standard tools of xbin, sound2sun, raw2audio, etc. I get a set of sounds appended to one another. Also, I was recently told about a hyperstack which contained a number of interesting sounds. How would one access the sounds of that from a Unix only approach? Thanks! -- Larry W.
