Hi. Does anyone out there make a ROM-less Mac clone? I have heard of at least a couple companies that make Mac portable machines, but with empty ROM sockets -- the theory being that either you're going to copy the ROMs (i.e. break the copyright law), buy ROMs from various companies that aparently get them from dead macs, or move the ROMs back and forth between the portable and a REAL mac. I don't want to shell out big bucks for a portable, I just want the cheapest SE compatable machine possible. As an alternative, pointers to a store that will sell me an SE with no keyboard, no mouse, and 1 internal floppy disk drive (no internal HD) would be nice. Before you think I'm nuts, I have a IIgs with a keyboard, 3.5 drive and a SCSI hard disk (and other stuff) that I can just move over to the new machine. I don't want to pay more than $1000 for such a "crippled" machine. Please reply via mail, I will post a summary if there's an overwhelming desire for this info. -- Nick Sayer | Disclaimer: N6QQQ [44.2.1.17 soon] | "Just because you're reading my post doesn't mrapple@quack.sac.ca.us | mean we're gonna take long showers together." 209-952-5347 (Telebit) | -- Gunnery Sgt.
