[net.bugs.4bsd] SDB unider Berkley Unix

merg@bunker.UUCP (Jim Stephenson) (10/26/83)

When we run SDB on a Vax 780 running Eunice under VMS we have many many problems.

e.g.	1) It is hogging lots of memory
	2) All of the modules that we wish to run SDB on need to be in the same source file
	3) Setting very moderate number of break points can cause spurious errors ("eunice expression failed" etc.)

Does System V Vax Unix now have virtual memory? What's the largest test proccess one can run on System III Vax Unix?
If we need lots of memory will either System III or System V be ok?

Wollegong's Eunice seems to have quite a few problems certain utilities like tar and touch do not work under Eunice.
I thought that Eunice was for the most part an almost a total emulation of Unix? How is Wollegong supporting other
Eunice sites?
