[comp.sys.mac.wanted] RIP OFF ALERT

atschnei@vlsi.waterloo.edu (Todd Schneider) (11/22/90)

I recently purchased what were supposed to be 1Meg/80ns
SIMMs from the persons who posted the article below.
What I received --- after I paid half of the agreed
upon price ($30(US) each) by COD, were two 256k/100ns
SIMMs. I have tried numerous times to contact them via
email and telephone to resolve this but have been
unsuccessful.

As a friendly warning to anyone else who is considering
purchasing SIMMs from these people: BE VERY CAREFUL,
THESE PEOPLE ARE EITHER CONCIOUSLY RIPPING PEOPLE OFF
OR HAVE SO LITTLE KNOWLEDGE THAT THEY SHOULD NOT BE
SELLING SIMMS. (so far I'm willing to assume the
latter .... )

Additional correspondence with them clearly indicated that they were
1M SIMMs taken from Mac ][ci's (i.e. 100ns of better) ... (I have
copies of our correspondence if anyone wants to see it.)

If anyone else has had a similar experience - I'd like to hear from
you ... especially if you live in or near Boston, MA. !!!!
