I'm trying to help a friend out here. She's a graphic designer who frequently scans images. She has a Mac II but is trading the whole system in for an fx (drool droool) system in January. She's disappointed with the Applescanner she has now. What she really wants is to go up above 300 dpi, but I haven't really seen scanners in that range greater than 400. It seems cheaper to get 24 bit color than higher resolution. What I need is advice, comments or observations on scanners particularly upscale ones. (ie color or higher rez...) In this line has anyone heard anything about the LaCie (sic?) scanners. I've heard their drives are ok if not as great as they claim in their ads, but their scanner is new as far as I can tell. Thanks in advance..... -tk === Comments should be mailed to: cs161fdx%sdcc10@ucsd.edu (until Dec 10) and: tkuykendall@ucsd.edu thereafter === "Buy Apple or we'll sue you too!"
