On my MacSE and MacPlus, I use "CrashSaver INIT" to enable me to jump out of programs that hang without rebooting. It is a sort of "CTRL-C" for the Mac which I value very high. I like being able to force my computer to do what I want it to do. Together with the "Pkey INIT", I have this "forced quit" right under my fingertips. You might object and say that if a program hangs, I should reboot. However, that is often not the case. With a IIsi with PseudoFPU, I might run into parts of a program that takes forever to execute without anything being wrong. Then, I just want to force that application to quit. It is also very valuable when I'm programmng, where I might make mistakes in "while"-loops so they run forever and similar mistakes. Now, it seems like the old "CrashSaver INIT" doesn't work on Mac II's. It even seems like the old "interrupt, SM 0 A9F4, G 0"-trick doesn't work either. Is there any newer version or substitute that will do what I want? -- Ingemar Ragnemalm Dept. of Electrical Engineering ...!uunet!mcvax!enea!rainier!ingemar ..
