I've already got a large tape collection, and since the recent purchase of
my CD player, am rapidly building up a sizable CD collection. Previously,
I've done inventorys using a database program (Excel or Microsoft Works).
I'd like to try a HyperCard stack this time, mainly because of the stuff
you can do with HyperCard (searching, printing reports, etc.)
I'd like a stack or stacks that will allow me to :
(a) List tapes and/or CD's that I have, just the titles and the artist that
did them; including running-length, number of tracks. I'd like to assign
each disc /tape a ID number, to be used in (b) below.
(b) I'd like to get an index of each song on each CD, which CD it's located
(here's where the ID number from (a) comes into play), the song's run-length,
what track it's on, the title and artist of the song.
Just to give you an idea of what I want, here's a sampling of what my
database files look like
Database File #1 -- CDs only
Name Artist ID #Tracks RunLen
Wilson Phillips Wilson Phillips POP 1 10 44:06
Twin Peaks Angelo Badalamenti ST 1 10 64:02
It's Better to Travel Swingout Sister POP 2 13 51:08
...
Database file #2 -- Song Index
Name Artist Location Track RunLen
Hold On Wilson Phillips POP 1 1 04:02
Release Me Wilson Phillips POP 1 2 03:52
...
Twin Peaks Theme Angelo Badalamenti ST 1 1 05:01
...
you get the idea
If it's available at an archive like sumex-aim.stanford.edu, please tell me
which archive, it's IP address, what directory, file name, etc. it is.
If you can, however, please mail me a copy of it, Binhexed and Stuffed if
possible.
Thank you in advance for the help!
