This message is a warning about SII MICROS, a mail order company operating out of Tustin, California. They're engaged in sleazy business practices and I think the net should know about it. Several weeks ago (I forget when), I ordered 8 1Mx8 80ns SIMMs at $37.99 apiece. I was informed at the time that they would be shipped UPS COD in two days. Two days later, I was called and informed that their shipment of 80ns SIMMs were late, could they send me 100 ns SIMMs instead? I refused, stating that I wanted 80 ns. They responded that they would be shipped a few days late. I got another call that same say; they again offered to ship me 100ns SIMMs. This time I responded that I would accept the 100ns SIMMs at a lower price. They refused. A few days later, I called to see if my order had been shipped; they responded that they still had not received any 80ns SIMMs. A few days later, I called again and was given the same response. I grew suspicious. I asked a friend to call SII and ask for the price and availability of 1Mx8 80ns SIMMs. He was informed that they had them in stock and would ship them to him UPS in 2 days for $40.99 apiece. With this new information in hand, I called them back, and once again inquired as to the status of my order. I was told the same thing as before; that they didn't have any in stock. When I replied that I knew that they had some in stock, the story changed; the person now insisted that I had cancelled my order. I replied that I had not; and was still waiting for it. At this point the real reason was revealed - he was not going to ship my order as long as he could receive a higher price. Needless to say, I got my SIMMs elsewhere. _emt
