sysman@glasgow.UUCP (System Manager) (01/31/84)
An interesting thing happened yesterday. People came complaining about not being able to log in. On checking I found that /bin/login had been knobbled and what looked like an X file from uucp put at the front. The rest looked untouched and the size was still the same. It looks like the kernel got its knickers in a twist, or at least its buffer pointers. Before I spend lots of time trying to find the bug, has anybody experienced anything similar? We run 4.1bsd on a 780. The disks are System Industries 160MB Fuji and DEC RM03's.
