Folks, The internal drive on my mac corrupts disks and makes them unreadable. I have swapped the drive and get the same problem, i.e., reads are ok, but any write access to the disk renders it unreadable ("Do you wish to initialize..."). I have checked power supplies (all ok), cleared PRAM, run disinfectant. I now believe I have a hardware problem not necessarily the floppy. (I have a mac 128 upgraded to 512ke by apple, 3rd party upgrade to Mac plus). Possibly the IWM. If anyone knows of diagnostic software that might isolate the problem please let me know. (Even if the software is unavailable to non-apple people, if I know its name I can have the local repair people get it.) Please reply to me by mail and I'll summarize, Thanks, Happy Mac'ing, John Swartz jcs@zodiac.phy.duke.edu 919-684-8279 -- John C.
