I was recently given a vanilla Mac512K, and want only to write text (novel length) with it. I have Microsoft Word 3.01 (haven't been able to get MacWrite yet), and am consequently shuttling system and data disks. Friends have advised me to invest in an external hard disk (saying I should be able to get one new for <$250). However, the place I called to price an external hard disk for it said that you cannot, without expensive adaptors, install an external hard disk on a vanilla Mac512K! Is this true? If not, would anyone out there sell me one? If it is true, any advice on how to (most cheaply) get set up for novel-length word processing on this machine?
