[comp.sys.mac.wanted] Utility to 'synchronize' disks

JACOBSEN@SLACVM.SLAC.STANFORD.EDU (05/05/91)

I use several Macs extensively. Unfortunately, a couple of them are
not networked (the one at home, etc), so I end up carrying around
a few floppies of my 'most recent' files. As long as I'm reasonably
careful and keep all my folders on 'view by date', I can keep all
the hard-disks in sync, but it's a pain.

Is there a utility program that can help with this? The ideal thing
would keep a set of directories for folder 'Foo' on each seperate
hard-disk, then when it saw a file modified on hard-disk 1 it would
copy it to the floppy. Then, when next run on hard-disk 2 it would see
a more recent version on the floppy and copy it onto the hard-disk.

I can do this with various backup programs by doing 'incremental
backups' and keeping a single control file, but its cumbersome and VERY
error prone (it's more idiot-proof to just copy the most recent 10 files
to a floppy, but it's slow and I still screw up sometimes).

Any ideas appreciated.
