A while back, I posted a request for how to swap the caps lock
and control keys on an extended Mac ADB Keyboard.
Here's what I found out. Use at your own risk.
Well here's how:
Hardware
--------
Remove the capslock keytop.
There are clips above and below the key (toward tab and shift).
Use a paper clip to separate the clips outward, as if opening a mouth.
Gently lift out the key assembly. Careful not to lose the spring or
other hardware.
There's a teensy white piece which "catches" with the gray post.
Disassemble, then re-assemble without the white catch. Store in safe
place, perhaps tape to keyboard.
The key no longer "sticks."
Software
--------
Use ResEdit to re-assign the key. See chapter 9 of the Resedit manual
by Alley and Strange.
Be Careful!!
