I (stupidily) bought a Mac classic, Now the people that I bought it off inform me that I can use mac+ accelerator cards on it.... So what I want to know is, can I get an accelerator card, (33mhz, pmmu) 68030 card for the classic? or do I have to sell it? For that matter can I get a mac video card for it as well? Cheers, Paul MAVERICK@rata.vuw.ac.nz

Accelerators: The current MACWORLD contains a review of many accelerator cards, including some for the Classic. I think there is a 40MHz '030 Gemini card for it. Video Cards: What do you mean by "get a mac video card for it"? The Classic is not a color machine, so you cannot put a color display on it (ScuzzyGraph, excluded :-) but there are both full page and two page displays available for the Classic. /s -- Alexander Erskine Wise /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ Software Development Laboratory /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ WISE@CS.UMASS.EDU /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ \/\/\ This situation calls for large amounts of unadulterated CHOCOLATE! /\/\/\

One of the options for getting a bigger display on your Clasic is to buy the Radius Full Page Display for the Classic. The suggested retail for the card and display runs about $1100. Of course, your local dealer's street price will be lower. As sombody noted earlier, the Classic isn't built for color, and doesn't have the color ROMs, nor the CPU speed for running multi-depth color QuickDraw on a large screen. Have you given any thought about a ][si? :P =John Lee =Radius Inc. =Developer Services Internet: johnL@radius.com AppleLink: RADIUS.QA (ATTN: RDS)

Well, you can't use Mac Plus accelerators with it -- but you could use the Classic accelerator from TOTAL SYSTEMS (yes, they like their name in all caps). I think their number is 503-345-7395... =============================================================================== | Glenn L.
