Thanks for the responses! One poster recommended using CloseView which comes with the Apple installation disks. This INIT/CDEV does the trick with respect to white on black text however it displays a very large "magnification box" all the time and there doesn't seem to be a way to turn it off. There are controls in the CDEV for adjusting the magnification and turning it on and off but there is no way to turn off the bloody box! Any hints? Otherwise CloseView seems very stable and just the thing I need. --- John T.
