[comp.sys.mac.apps] Drawing thin lines in MacDraw II 1.

gillies@p.cs.uiuc.edu (05/31/90)

One irritating thing about MacDraw II 1.0 is that once you change the
arrowheads given to you at startup, it is apparently impossible to get
them back to the original format. You can play with them all day, but
the original shape cannot be recreated. Sheesh.

Create a template document with all the arrowheads you like (inc. the default)
then just make a copy when you want a particular one.

Many features of MDII are really wonderful, but its arrowhead implementation
is one of its weak points. If you have a line with existing arrows, and you
want to change them you need to change to a line with no arrows, edit the
arrow, then put the arrows back. Intuitive?

And another thing .. How come I can put arrows on the ends of a curved
segment in good old MacDraft but not in the latest release from Claris?
(but MacDraft's arrows are really ugly - you just can't win.. )

Actually, why can't MDII have a few arrowhead settings within one stationery
like the dashed line? I found the change of the shape of an existing
arrowhead irritating as well.
