[comp.sys.mac.apps] ATM/Type Align Questions

Hi Ho,

Having a Mac+ with 2.5 Meg and an Apple LaserWriter IISC, I decided that
ATM and Type Align would be worthwhile purchases, and indeed they have been.

Now that I've played with it for a couple of weeks, I've some questions.

1) ATM comes with, for example, Times, Times Ob (italic), Times Bold, etc.
Is it neccessary for me to have each font time installed in my font
menu? In other words, if I only put Times in the menu, and I select
Italic or Bold from the Style menu, will ATM use the correct font, or
will a 'fake' italic or bold be generated? NOTE: all fonts are in one
suitcase, and the suitcase is open.

2) Type Align has an option to add some 'special effects' to characters,
those being a) levels of grey and b) drop shadows. For some reason, the
characters in grey look OK in the Type Align window, but don't print
correctly after being added to the application ... all I get is an
outline character? How can I make this work?

3) Is there a way to rotate an object in Type Align? Without grids or
   snap-type alignment, I often get a line or arc that's a little
'off' (especially with arcs ... I want the starting point and the ending
point to be level, but I alway seem to miss a bit).

If you E-mail me, I'll summarize results later, or if you post here,
I'm likely to see it since I read the mac stuff nearly every day.

Thanks in advance,
   Greg
