I have a book with 6 chapters, each stored in a separate file. I link them, using the procedure described on page 168 in the manual: 1) Each Chapter has the next chapter as its "next file" 2) Chapters 2-6 have "0" in the "Number Pages From box" The problem is that Word (4.0B) doesn't properly number the pages when I print only one of the files. It always starts Chapter 2 from page 1 if I print only Chapter 2. I haven't printed the entire book yet from the beginning to see if page numbering works in that case. An even more interesting thing happens when I create the table of contents at the beginning of Chapter 1:If any of the later chapters are also open, then the "page number box at the bottom of the window is updated to indcate the correct page initially, but try closing some of the documents, and then opening them again: you get some totally wild page numbers. Such fun! Is this a bug, a feature, or perhaps there is some an undocumented trick? Jim Meiss jdm@boulder.colorado.edu
