Hello, Recently I asked for informtion on SPICE, or some other circuit analysis, program for the Macintosh. Since then I have gotten quite a few responses. Several people wanted me to e-mail them a summary of the responses, but since so many wanted that, I decided to post a followup article. There is a SPICE program called PSPICE by Microsim. Supposedly they provide a free demo that is limited to about 15 elements. I was told of two phone numbers to call (714) 770-3022 and (714) 770-2415. The last number mentioned is the customer service number. I was told the program is a straight port to the Mac from the PC version. Another SPICE program mentioned was Ispice by Intusoft. I was told they pro- vide a disk. I was told to call (213) 833-9658 and to ask for their demo disk for Ispice, prespice, and intuscope programs for the Mac. Another program mentioned was Dr. Circuit 1.4. This is a simple linear analy- sis shareware program. It was mentioned however that the results look in- accurate. Also mentioned was MacSpice by Deutch Research. They also may provide a demo. (to PEM, could you please post Deutch Research's phone number and any other info you have, thank you.) It was mentioned that a person might check sumex-aim.stanford.edu for ftp. It was also mentiooned to me that the BMUG Newsletter of Winter/Spring '90 has a good article for the U. of Hawaii on the subject of circuit analysis. To all the people who sent me information about SPICE for the Macintosh, I thank you. I really appreciate your response. If anyone else has any info please e-mail me at serickso@ub.d.umn.edu. Thank you, Scott Erickson

Last I checked they provided a three-time run demo. Call and you may talk to Mr. Deutsch (I'm not kidding - I originally thought it was a German company, too) Paul Eric Menchen meuchen@grad1.cis.upenn.edu
