I called Software Toolworks last week and talked to one of the managers.
He claims that as of Aug. 22, D&S 5.0 started to ship. Apparently the
way that the upgrade is being handled like this:
* Those who ordered the upgrade from 4.1x to 5.0 while Monogram still
published the product will receive it from Monogram. ST has sent
a shipment of the product to Monogram, so that Monogram can send
it out. This is being done for logistics, accounting, etc reasons.
* Those who ordered the upgrade after the date (July 1 as I recall)
that ST took over the publishing will be sent the product by them.
Note that he claims that the product is all the same, regardless of
who sends it to you (those who ordered the upgrade). It will have the
Software Toolworks brandname on it. I was also told that Monogram still
owns the rights to the program. What has been done (as I understand it)
is that Monogram does the engineering on the product but has ST do the
manufacturing/publishing/marketing, etc.
I was told that if I had not received my copy by the end of this week
(Aug. 31) to call him back.
I will believe all this when I see it in the mail.
