I am having some serious trouble setting up 3.0 to run my scriptwriting. Here is my basic setup: CHARACTER {at 40; shouldn't wrap} (parenthetical) {between 35 and 60} DIALOG goes here and can wrap and wrap. It's between 30 and 60 picas on the screen (3 to 6 in the inch columns in 12 point Courier). SHOT (should be all in uppercase) between 10 and 75. SLUG LINES (also upper case) btween 10 and 75. Action just goes like this between 10 and 75. TRANSITIONS {go over here at 65, in uppercase} I have set up styles for each of the types, including font and margins, and have associated a ruler with each. My problems: 1. Although PARENTHETICAL is supposed to always be followed by DIALOG, when I insert one and hit return, it put an ACTION in. 2. When I write a macro to inser a character style, enter a name, and glossary it out, It comes out with ythe right ruler with the wrong margins. 3. I can't set an UPPERCASE in the style sheet, which really bums me. There should be an UPPERCASE style that does not care about the case of the underlying text. For 3, I wrote a macro that performas an UPPERCASE on the current paragraph, so the last item is less critical. The other stuff just doesn't seem to WORK! If you have any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them. jas -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeffrey A.
