[comp.sys.mac.apps] FileMaker II -> FileMaker Pro upgrade

fri0@quads.uchicago.edu (Christian E. Fritze) (08/18/90)

So CLARIS has released FileMaker Pro. If you purchase FileMaker II now, the
upgrade is apparently free (so says MacWarehouse literature). Does anyone know
whether this is also true for copies of FileMaker II purchased with the academic
discount? We can get FileMaker II for $100.- here. Anyone have experience with
this? Anyone from CLARIS want to comment? Thanks.

Actually, we still haven't released it yet. Got a few more little bugs to
track down.

What you need to do is when you buy FileMaker II, immediately send in your
registration card. When we do release (there will be announcements, believe
me), then call Claris Costumer Relations and go through them. Remember,
anybody who bought FileMaker II after April MacWorld can upgrade to
FileMaker Pro for free! Being in Product Developement, I do not know
how much it is to updgrade FMII pre-April or FileMaker Plus or FileMaker
1.0, but the people in Customer Relations do. Call 1-800-544-8554 (in
the US) to get more info on updrades.

We expect release Real Soon Now.

I don't think educational discounts are covered in free upgrade stuff, sin
you get it so inexpensively to start with. For the best info, call Claris
customer service.

Besides, it is well worth the price. I know. Right, jazzman?
