[comp.sys.mac.apps] Floating Graphics

doc@dgp.toronto.edu (Blaine Price) (09/25/90)

Is it possible to have graphics objects in Nisus "float" to the top
or bottom of the page? If you just paste a graphic into the text layer
where the grapihc takes up n vertical inches and there are only n - epsilon
inches left on the page then there will be n - epsilon inches of white
space left on the page as the graphic goes to the next page. It would be
nice if it was possible to just have the text wrap around it.

Several suggestions:
-- Try cropping the graphic so it can fit in the n - epsilon remaining space.
--	Paste the graphic in the graphics layer, set it's attachment
attribute to Page attached and also set the graphic so text will
flow around it. Once a graphic is page attached you can
fix it to the top or bottom or anywhere else on the page you like.
--	If you need the graphic to float, and still want the same kind of
control as with page attached graphics you need to apply the
following work around: While building up the document make sure the
graphic's attachement attribute is paragraph attached. (It helps to
have graphic anchors display set to "on" when working with graphics.)
When you are finishing up the document and preparing to print, make
the graphic page attached and fix it's position where you want it.
