[comp.sys.mac.apps] why won't filemaker print more than 24 labels?

ramaley@csli.Stanford.EDU (Alan Ramaley) (10/08/90)

Okay. I'm the music director down at KZSU (90.1 fm, if you're in the
bay area). I keep a list of record labels in filemaker. Actually, I
keep the list in excel, and port it over to filemaker, pausing along
the way to take out the quotes with word. Yawn.

Every month we make a chart, with a place for an address to go, make
many photocopies, and stick the copies in a laserwriter. I then print
out each address directly on the chart, and mail it.

The problem is: filemaker won't let me print more than 24 labels at a
time. When I have printmonitor running, it gives me a "printing
time-out error". When I don't have printmonitor running, it almost
works; but then it tells me at the end that "the connection to the
printer was severed" or something along those lines. And I'm missing
chunks of addresses.

What I've been doing: omitting all but 24 records, printing them,
going to the next 24, etc., etc. For 400 labels, this can get tiring.

If you have any ideas, share. Um... also, if you're affiliated with a
college station, why don't you give me the music director's address,
and I'm put him or her on our mailing list? But the important thing
is the filemaker problem.
