I have the task of putting together a large Macintosh based executive information system which includes all the usual office automation: word processing, mail, spreadsheets, business graphics, telecomm, calculator, calendaring/scheduling, ticklers, and rolodexing. The interesting twists are that the system must include a complete document management system and voice should be fully integrated throughout the system. Also, it is a requirement that a unix-based server running Oracle be used for all database aspects of the system. A majority of the applications on the system are "track xxx" (eg. track all personnel reviews through completion) Therefore, recommendations for tools to write Mac applications to access (via SQL) remote Oracle databases are also of interest. If you have any recommendations for one or more pieces of this system or your company has products which might be applicable, please send me the product and company name and a brief description of how it might help. Also, indicate whether I should respond to you or elsewhere for more info. Of course, please send replies to query this just to me - do not post them. NOTE: If this request for information succeeds I'm going to be flooded, so please DO NOT REPLY AFTER NOV 1/90. Thanks! Mark Batten (uunet!shl!mark)
