A while ago, an announcement for HandsOff II was posted. In a recent magazine I saw On Cue II mentioned. - Does anyone know what On Cue II exactly is? - Has anyone worked yet with HandsOff II? - How do the two utilities compare? -- Leo Breebaart (leo @ duttnph.tudelft.nl)

As far as I know, On Cue I (not II) was just a application menu. Next to the multifinder icon (upper right hand corner) would be the On Cue icon, where if you click, it will be a menu of the applications of your choice. HandOff II also has this (plus option of putting the menu next to the apple menu). It also has the ability to make suitcases for applications. For example, if you usually keep your mac ii in two color mode, but want to run a color paint program, you can make a suitcase. The suitcase will contain the paint program and the command to change colors to 8 bit and to open the picture you are working for the pixel paint competition. That's a pretty nice feature. Not only does it have suitcases, but it also substitutes creator types for another. Meaning if you don't have MacWrite on your drive and you get a macwrite file. When you double click the file, it says macwrite can't be found. With HandOff II, it will ask you if you want to substitute another application (like WriteNow) for macwrite files. So, next time you get another macwrite file, just double click and WriteNow will open up that document. As you can guess, I think HandOff II is a pretty neat-o CDEV. I would certainly get it over On Cue I. But, I don't know anything about On Cue II. ins_apw@jhunix.hcf.jhu.edu <--using a friends account

It's possible to attache any number of documents to be passed when launching an application. Moreover there is application switching with key commands and it's possible to access One Cue I in both upper corners. As you can guess, I think HandOff II is a pretty neat-o CDEV. I would certainly get it over On Cue I. But, I don't know anything about On Cue II. I just switched to HandOff II which is a lot more powerful than On Cue I. However, I have some compatibility problems with HandOff II so can't use all of its features. For example, multiple application launching does not work if one application shows a dialog at startup such as ResEdit 2.x and THINK Pascal. Moreover, my copy of HandOff is incompatible with "INIT Bus Error" and MultiDisk. But HandOff is neat so I just wait for that bugfix to show up. I'm also interested in On Cue II so if anyone have any information, post it! -- +---------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Lars Sundstrom, Lund University, Department of Applied Electronics, | | Box 118, S-221 00 Lund, Sweden Phone: +46-46121598 Fax:+46-46129948 | | Internet: sund@tde.lth.se | +---------------------------------------------------------------------+
