[comp.sys.mac.apps] QuicKeys 2 Fix available?

jnowak@hpuxa.ircc.ohio-state.edu (Joseph P. Nowak) (11/14/90)

I received the QuicKeys 2 demo last week and gave it a try.
It was good but CE software won't get me to buy the product until
they address some bugs. Under Multifinder, QK2 sometimes loses track
of the current application and won't let you use the keys you designed
for it. Also, the demo did not come with a utility to print out
keyboard templates for programs like the original did.

I read the MacWeek review in the 10/30/90 issue and they mentioned a
bug fix in November. Does anyone know if this is out and if it
addresses the above troubles?

Well, I got QK2 last Friday, and haven't noticed the bug you mentioned
(how did you get it, I'll check and see if I can duplicate it) but I
have noticed two others which seem transient... Both happened while I
was trying out WK11.08. One was, the application quit but QK2 didn't
know that and still had it's qk's available in the little menu...
That isn't such a big deal, but the other problem which first showed
up at that time was that the QK Menu items had the height of a full
icon, not the small-icon which they are supposed to have. I don't
know why that happened, but when I turned off QK with InitCdev and
then rebooted, then rebooted with it on, the problem went away. It
might be because I don't use WK regularly, I don't know... Any
suggestions, please follow up to me or to the net, and I'll respond to
anyone who needs me to with the info I get.....

I just looked at a local (Cleveland, OH) BBS and found an "updater" application
to take QuicKeys 2.0 to 2.0.1. If anyone is interested, I can forward it by
E-mail. (BTW, would CE give me a problem if I forwarded it to sumex?)
