Thanks to all the people who responded to my post. First, I found out that the version of Canvas which I had looked at was not current. I should have included the version in my post. Second, I learned that Canvas 2.1 does everything that I asked for. Since I liked the way Canvas worked, and the output it generated, and was only bothered by a couple of missing features, It looks like Canvas is the right way to go for me. Also, the majority of the posts and direct email responses were in favor of Canvas. There were a few diehard Superpaint and MacDraw II users, and a few people who feel that Freehand or Illustrator are the only way to go, but overall Canvas was the most popular suggestion. Since it appeared more popular than SuperPaint and MacDraw II, and I found that I liked its earlier version, and I don't need all that is in Freehand or Illustrator, Canvas 2.1 will be my choice Thanks again, KEP patzerk@pleiades.cps.msu.edu (Kurt E.
