Serius is a graphical/object oriented development system for the Mac. I have a copy on evaluation. I am considering buying it but I have seen "system error" a bit too often. My version might be requiring an upgrade, it is currently 2.2. I was using a 5Mb IIcx with a freshly installed system. *** Does anyone have an e-mail address for Serius Corporation? I am hoping to find out if I can get patches(if they exist) over the net. *** Basically I think Serius is really great. I have not touched Prototyper so I can not compare the two. I feel that with such a significant product known bugs will be fixed quickly so I'm not too concerned about that. Serius is easy if you just want to use the supplied modules. These include a database, CD audio, Apple Scanner sound, async comms, workstaion to workstation comms over AppleTalk and more as well as the expected menus, windows etc. The application can be run within Serius with a debugger or compiled to a standalone application. A concern is the difficulty of programmer extensibility. The manual suggests you should have experience with CDEFs or MDEFs before attempting your own extensions to the object library. The main deficiency is that there is no access to any simple drawing routines. This seems to be because all the objects know how to draw themselves so we can't have you drawing all over the screen. gris
