I work for an academic office at the University of Houston. We were recently made aware of the need for some sort of a test question manager -- something that simply keeps a database of test questions, and can make tests and multiple-version tests. One of the more specific requests I got was for the test-builder to randomize the order the questions appear, and provide multiple copies (randomized into different orders -- presumably if it can randomize at all, manually creating different tests with the same questions will result in different ordered versions.) Anyone ever heard of something like this? It sounds like a simple enough program that I would try to write it myself if I had the time, please let me know if the work has already been done, or if some other application might be customized to fulfill these needs. Appreciation for any and all comments and help. Please respond via E-mail, I'm not very faithful to the newsgroups, and would hate to miss anything pertinant.
