A while back I saw a posting about an ftp site where there was an demo version of Lime, a midi software package. I failed to write it down, could someone please let me know where it is?? The "0.4" version number is a bit misleading ... Lime is a fairly complete Midi scoring application written by Lippold Haken of the University of Illinois CERL PLATO Music Group. Haken asked in his original posting to comp.music: "If you do copy it, please send email to l-haken@uiuc.edu so we can keep track of who is testing it." Lime has been in development as a tool for musicologists since 1978. The recent version released for the Macintosh is one of the first applications to be based on Apple's Midi Manager. The program is very impressive; with proper feedback and support from the electronic community, I think that Lime could evolve into an important new tool for the Mac-based Midi composer. The principal drawback at present is that it is difficult to work with sequencer-generated files. Please join me in encouraging Lippold to incorporate this important feature into Lime!
