[comp.sys.mac.apps] Timbuktu and Ram Cache

jaya@ra.src.umd.edu (Jaya Kanal) (12/18/90)

Hi there -

I am running 2 Mac IIs as file servers. One has 4 megs ram and the other
has 2 megs ram and are both running Appleshare 2.01 and Apple's print
server software (v 2.0). In addition, I have them running Timbuktu 3.1 as
guests so I can adminsister them from my mac.

It seems that when I restart either server, the ram cache is set. I think
it is due to TB2, but I can't find any references to the cache in the TB2
manual (or the Print server or File server manuals). The cache is set
quite high, and i am wondering WHY this is occurring automatically - is it
because of the preferences i have set in the TB2 preferences menu(s)?

Am I missing something basic, here? Any info would be appreciated!
