[comp.sys.mac.apps] question on using Panorama on Mac IIci

ahlenius@motcid.UUCP (Mark Ahlenius) (12/19/90)

My apologies if this appeared twice on net, 1st time I posted
it - it did not appear on downloaded group.

I am posting this question for a friend who has a Mac IIci (brand new)
at home and is using the Panorama DB program. When they first start
using Panorama, it works fine - but as time goes on (0.5->1hrs) or so,
it starts to slooow down. They claim it takes 10-20 seconds to go from
one screen to the next. It seems to get worse as time goes on.
This is the only application up at this time.
They should have the latest Mac OS (3 week old system) - but I dont
know what version of Panorama they have. The system has 8 megs of Ram./

He has an FX at work and does not have this problem (8 meg machine also).

I know that Panorama is a ram based program - so the only thing that I
can figure out is there is some memory mgmt (sw) problem.

Has anyone else seen this? He ran the Panorama ram test and it worked fine.

I told him to check the "About the Finder" menu when it occurs to see
how much available ram there was and how much was being used by the system
 and the application.

Any hints would be appreciated. Please email responses.
