After just scanning through the messages here I noticed that a few people are interested in Fourth Dimension, or as the case may be, not interested because of limitaions or bugs in the program. I have been working with Fourth Dimension since its introduction onto the market around late '86. I can tell anyone this, Fourth Dimension has the steepest learning curve of any program on the market. It is very picky in it's programming language, i.e. You have to do stuff JUST RIGHT or it won't work. There are alot of things you have to keep track of if you want to write a script or procedure that works. Once you figure this out, many of the "bugs" people are describing mysteriously dissapear. Granted, the program has certain limitations and annoying pickyness, but as for a database system, I haven't seen any better yet for raw power. The speed of Fourth Dimension is not fantastic, but the serious capabilities and power dwarf many other database systems that I have worked with in the past. Currently, I am working on the side as a Fourth Dimension programmer on my own... and would be happy to help anyone with programming problems or even hire myself out as a custom developer for any company that needs fourth dimension help. If interested, Contact: Michael Jones in Seattle Washington.
