Ashlar Vellum recently started crashing when printing to my Deskwriter for the second time during each startup. At first I thought it was a problem with Freedom of Press, so I selected the Appletalk Deskwriter driver in the chooser, same problem. I restarted with FOP closed, printed a drawing twice, got the same error. The error message is in the form of a small dialog box saying simply: "System Error" with a Quit button. Quitting only quits Vellum, and if I restart Vellum I get an error "There is not enough memory... 2500k needed, 2499k available.....". Restarting the mac permits Vellum to be restarted and allows a drawing to be printed once. About the Finder confirms that memory has become fragmented, but how does it get fragmented by printing? The system is: IIci, 8M ram, system 6.0.5, SUM Shield init, Moire, Superclock, ATM, Super Boomerang, Suitcase II with Freedom of Press usually running (though turning it off didn't help) all under MultiFinder. Any thoughts are appreciated bob prohaska
