The subject line contains the short version, here's the long version: We have 8 Macs and some printers connected in an APpleTalk (or is it LocalTalk) network, using those "cheapo" DIN-to-RJ11 pigtails and phone cables. We have been using LapLink Network Pac to copy files all over the place as needed, but invariably someone puts the files in the wrong folder, or some computer's clock gets screwed up and they clobber all the "older" updated files. We are looking for a better solution, i.e. a file server. Is this what AppleShare does? (hey Apple, why isn't AppleShare in your APDAlog?????) We need to share text files for R/W and HyperCard stacks for read-only. What other software can anyone suggest? Thank you all in advance. --Martin Thurn er225711@unix.cis.pitt.edu
