Just wondering. I can't seem to completely delete a footer in a word 4 document I created. Any Ideas?? I thought I deleted everything in it (including the para symbol), yet I can still see it in page view (with show hidden turned on)??? Any Ideas? Thanks , Mark Sartor (18215mes@msu.bitnet) Mich State (sorry about the empty post of same title...)

Even if you delete all that, if there is a previous section with an active footer, the empty footer will inherit the previous section's footer. -- --------------------------------- | Howard Moskovitz | | Locus Computing | | Inglewood, CA |

If the original poster is experiencing the bug we've seen here, then what he meant was that if he opened the footer, deleted *everything* (including the paragraph mark) and closed the footer, then the footer didn't change. Our experience is that you can delete everything *but* the paragraph mark, put a single space before the paragraph mark and the footer contents will go away. I know this seems bizarre, but that's how we get around it. If anyone knows a better (or the correct) way to do it, I'd be interested. --jon ~
