On behalf of several users, I am looking for a program to back up and
restore hard disks to/from floppies. From magazine reviews, I've
identified Disk Fit, Fastback II, and Redux as candidates. The reviews
are pretty limited, and I would appreciate comments from users of these or
other programs.
Selection criteria include:
Selective backup--in addition to backing up the full disk, the user
should be able to back up a selected set of files (for example,
to avoid backing up system files, applications, and other files
available from distribution disks)
Incremental backup--it should be possible to make a backup, or add to an
existing backup, only those files that are new or have changed since
the last backup was made
Selective recovery--in addition to restoring the full set of backed up
files to disk, the user should be able to recover an individual file
Ease of use--think of bright, non-programmer types as users
Feel free to suggest other criteria you think I should include.
If you respond directly to me, I will summarize and post to the net.
Thank you.
